Leather Care

Conditioning:
Apply a high-quality leather conditioner every few months to keep the leather supple, hydrated, and resistant to cracking. We recommend our own Straven Crafts Leather Conditioner for optimal compatibility and results.

Cleaning:

Gently wipe the surface with a dry, soft cloth after wear to remove dust and debris.

For spills, immediately blot with a clean, absorbent cloth. Never rub.

For persistent stains, seek a professional leather cleaner only. Do not use household detergents, alcohol, or harsh chemicals.

Storage:
Store your jacket in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Use a breathable garment bag for long-term storage. Never store in plastic.

Protection:

Avoid prolonged exposure to rain or snow. If the jacket gets wet, let it air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat.

For added protection, you can apply a leather-safe water repellent spray sparingly.

Hardware Care:
Gently clean zippers and metal hardware with a soft, dry cloth. You can apply a small amount of non-abrasive metal polish to prevent tarnishing if needed.

Precautions & What to Avoid:

DO NOT machine wash, tumble dry, dry clean, or iron.

DO NOT expose to direct heat sources (radiators, hair dryers, intense sunlight).

DO NOT store in damp, humid conditions.

DO NOT use sharp objects or abrasive materials near the leather.

DO NOT use saddle soap or generic cleaners not specifically formulated for fine leather garments.

General Tips:

Allow the jacket to breathe by hanging it in a well-ventilated area between wears.

Address any minor repairs (like loose threads) promptly.

Rotate your jackets regularly to ensure even aging and wear.

By following these care instructions, you will preserve the integrity, appearance, and longevity of your Straven Crafts jacket, allowing its character to develop beautifully over time.
